Here's a quick bit from Mike Huckabee on his decision to commute the sentence of now-cop killer Clemmons.

Due diligence, anyone? You send out letters to five groups, only hear back from one, and then decide to just go off the recommendation of the one that got back to you? How is that even remotely a defense of one's actions. I understand that Clemmons' case is filled with miscues by law enforcement officers, DAs, and two state governments but using the "They didn't return my phone calls" excuse just seems ridiculous to me. Although I will admit that I'm biased because I don't want this guy getting any closer to the White House.

Meanwhile, it seems like Sweden took my hypothetical "Move Israel" post and actually ran with it (backwards) by calling for Palestine to be recognized as a state and giving them back East Jerusalem.

The current holder of the rotating European Union presidency, Sweden, has put together a draft document calling for the division of Jerusalem between Israel and a future Palestinian state and implying that the EU would recognize a unilateral Palestinian declaration of statehood.

Should be interesting to see how this plays out. This plan has already failed once and I'm not sure how much has changed that it will work today. Israelis still seem to favor expansion; the only reason that the current moratorium on settlements passed was because Prime Minister Netanyau promised the hardliners that they'd start the settlements back up as soon as the moratorium ended. On the other hand, it's not like the Muslim world has really done anything to make Israel feel like they can sit back, relax, and not fear for their lives. This just doesn't seem like a story that's going to have a happy ending, if it ever has an ending
