Politicked Off: Move Israel!
Yes, I know that this will never happen but I've recently been wondering what in the world the League of Nations was thinking in the late 10's when they decided that Palestine should be made the "national home for the Jewish people." Obviously, something had to be done and the Jewish people needed their own state but to make the safe haven the one place in which they would never be safe seems amazingly short-sighted. I just don't know how you can choose the one place that would drive the entire Muslim world insane. Yes, the area has significance for Jewish people as well but I think there needed to be some compromise there. Never mind the Holy Land, if we gave the Native Americans the rights to Graceland there'd be riots.
I really wonder what the world would be like today if the mandate made a different part of the Ottoman Empire the "national home of Jewish people" and let Palestine be.

You make it sound like there was a different location, as if there was a choice between Yonkers and the Middle East. There wasn't. And you also make it sound like the League of Nations made an arbitrary decision. The pressure came from Jews and the desperation to reclaim the land that they lost (compare it to the ideology the US used for reservations, or not, I don't give a shit, the land we gave Natives seemed like wastelands but some are home to precious minerals -who's short-sighted?)because of being slaughtered everywhere they went (Russia, Spain, so on and so forth). Jews knew the danger but committed to the plan are still sticking to the plan, will eventually be overpopulated and forced off the land due to the birth-rate of Arabs in that region (unless genocide is committed which seems to be a possibility considering the history).
Anyway, I really don't understand the point of your post unless it was to piss people off, in particular the title. If so, congrats and wtf?! How you can go from armchair critic of music, sports, film, political pundits and talkshow hosts then this, is puzzling. Seriously, dude.

The League of Nations could have picked any of the areas from the fallen Ottoman Empire.
And what plan did Israel stick two? Clearly it wasn't the Two State plan; the very plan that the UN is basically trying to go back to.
